Are they easy to clean?

Very easy to clean - just wipe or wash in soapy water and dry :-)

How many spices can it hold?

My rotating racks are the size 28 cm. ones with an actual surface diameter of 27cm. Given that my spice jars have a diameter of 4.3cm. it is possible to fit 7 jars into one quarter of the rack i.e. a maximum of 28 jars in very close proximity.

How thick is the base itself (not the sides)-want to make sure condiments fit in the cupboard if placed on the turntable

Hi, it is 1c thick in base and 221/2 cm in width the tallest condiments I have are salt and pepper grinders that are 22 cm tall. It will take taller according to your cupboard. I hope this helps
